Additional Reasons to use us at TK Revive

  • There are several important reasons why cleaning windows regularly is beneficial, both for your home and your business. Beyond the aesthetic appeal, regular window cleaning contributes to the overall health, safety, and longevity of your property. Here are some of the key reasons why window cleaning is essential:

    1. Enhanced Curb Appeal

Clean windows improve the appearance of your home or office, making it look well-maintained and inviting. Whether you’re trying to sell your property or just want to make a good impression on guests or customers, sparkling windows make a significant difference in the overall aesthetic.

    2. Better Natural Light

Over time, dirt, grime, and smudges build up on windows, blocking sunlight from entering your space. Clean windows allow more natural light to filter through, brightening up your interiors and reducing the need for artificial lighting during the day.

    3. Improved Energy Efficiency

When windows are dirty or covered in grime, it can affect the thermal performance of your windows, making it harder for them to insulate your home properly. Clean windows allow more sunlight to warm your space naturally in the winter, and can help maintain better insulation in the summer, potentially lowering heating and cooling costs.

    4. Preservation of Window Materials

Dirt, acid rain, hard water, and other debris can accumulate on windows over time and cause damage to the glass or frames. Regular cleaning helps prevent the build-up of harmful substances that can deteriorate your windows, frames, and sills. Left untreated, these contaminants may cause permanent staining or damage.

TK Revive provides services for all your “REVIVING” needs in Auckland, North Shore, Rodney & parts of Northland.

Here’s what you can expect from an expert window ‘sparkle’:

  • Window cleaning is essential for maintaining a clean and clear view through your windows and ensuring the longevity of the glass and frames. Whether you’re cleaning the windows of your home or office, the process is fairly straightforward but does require the right tools and techniques for the best results.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how we clean windows effectively:

    1. Make Sure We Have All We Need

    • Cleaning solution: You can use a store-bought window cleaner, or make your own using a mixture of water, dish soap, and a small amount of vinegar or rubbing alcohol. Alternatively, mix one part vinegar to ten parts water for a streak-free shine.
    • Squeegee: The best tool for removing cleaning solution and water from the window.
    • Microfiber cloth or lint-free towel: For wiping down edges and any excess liquid.
    • Bucket: For holding your cleaning solution.
    • Extension pole (if you need to reach high windows).
    • Scraper (optional): For removing any built-up dirt or grime on the glass.
    • Rubber gloves (optional): To protect your hands from the cleaning solution and any rough edges on the window.

    2. Prepare the Area

    • Move any furniture or objects away from the window.
    • Lay down a towel or cloth at the base of the window to catch drips.

    3. Wash the Window

    • Step 1: Dip a sponge or cloth into the cleaning solution and gently scrub the window. Start at the top and work your way down in circular motions, making sure to cover the entire glass surface.
    • Step 2: If there’s heavy grime or dirt, use a scraper to gently remove it. Be careful not to scratch the glass.

    4. Squeegee the Window

    • Starting at the top corner, pull the squeegee down in a straight, smooth motion.
    • Wipe the squeegee blade with a clean cloth between each pass to avoid streaks.
    • For a better finish, you can wipe the blade with a clean towel after every swipe.

    5. Dry the Edges

    • Use a microfiber cloth or towel to wipe the edges of the window frame to remove any remaining water or cleaner. This prevents water spots from forming.

    6. Check for Streaks

    • Inspect your windows from different angles to check for streaks. If any are visible, buff them out with a clean, dry microfiber cloth.

Tips for Best Results:

  • Clean on a cloudy day: Direct sunlight can cause the cleaning solution to dry too quickly, leaving streaks.
  • Don’t over-wet the window: Too much water or solution can cause streaks. Apply a moderate amount.
  • Regular maintenance: Clean your windows regularly (at least every few months) to prevent buildup and make each cleaning session easier.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals: Chemicals like ammonia can damage window seals and frames over time. Stick to mild cleaners or natural alternatives like vinegar.

Safety Considerations:

  • Use a sturdy ladder if cleaning high windows, and ensure it is on a flat surface.
  • If cleaning windows on an upper floor or in hard-to-reach areas, we use a tucker pole, woollie & squeegee.
